Song 3 - Fallout R&B For this its mostly just me working on the final 2 songs of my POD. That being the R&B and the 70s Funk. For the R&B song I wanted to talk about a couple that is in the middle of fighting but both of them are too stubborn to make up again so this takes the perspective of the male. Lyrics: Now im waking up Not a minute goes by where Im not thinking of you When the hell do we stop? Im tired pretending I dont care when I do Ooo yeah what do i do? Oh yeah   Cause I dont know that much about loving But just know that im always there I know you stay awake crying And im dying just to show you I care   So baby can we start loving Creative and technical processes: It's mostly me just drowning myself in a room listening to R&B songs and it occurs to me majority of them always talk about fallouts so I decided to write something like that. I'm breaking down other songs to see what makes them the way it ...

POD Song 3 Funk Rock Untitled This is a song that just randomly came about from a drum sample I got. The moment I heard it I immediately thought of a bassline. Once I heard the Drum and bass together, I knew I'd make it a funk rock song and from there it came with a bunch of experimentation with retro sounds and synth. The arranging to this was super challenging though before I just had a bunch of sounds that started to just become noise when everything got together. Eventually, I managed to sort it out but I realised there was another problem that I haven't had much experience with. Energy. I'd always have this burst of energy in the intro which was good, but whenever I wanted to switch to the verse, suddenly all that energy just disappears and suddenly the song's feeling/direction is gone along with it. So I think the essence for this song is how I control the energy throughout through the arrangement or songwriting. Pod Song 4 RnB Untitled Supposed to be ...

POD Song 2 Indie Pop Nicotine Before I start talking about the song, I realized certain things now. For all the songs I'm writing, I always go with the feeling of the song as my direction and top priority. So the problem that I have with me right now is that I actually have a lot of scrapped material in my Logic library for the past few weeks. Like for example, when I'm reopening a logic session and I listen to it again, I always get that ' this isn't it ' feeling and it's like the feeling/direction of it is just all wrong for me. So I'm always experimenting through new projects and trying to work on how to make it better based on past ones. This is especially true with the RnB song, and at this point, its something I've taken a break from working on and am working on the others. Anyways the Indie Pop song is the one that I've worked the most on, going through different melodies, different instrumentation, and I'm glad to finally have a str...

POD SONG 1 Acoustic Ballad When I'm Gone So I started on the Acoustic Ballad first and it's actually something I already wrote before school started. So it was mostly the recording process that I did for it wheres its just my vocals, the acoustic guitar, and a bit of pads. Creating the acoustic song is very comfortable for me because it is a style that I've been doing for a long time now.  But what makes this special is that its a song I wrote immediately after seeing LEW who is a local artist live. He has this very special ability in his songwriting that always gives off this certain feeling that's present in almost all his songs. So I wanted to somehow do that too but in my own kind of way and this is what came out of it.

Proposal 1 Title: I Don't Know Genre: R&B References: Sam Kim, DEAN, GRAY, Bruno Major I Don't Know is a groove-focused song that is driven forward through synthesis, arrangement, and mix. I thought of this song because its a genre that fits into my style pretty well and its something I've been wanting to do for a really long time. The final product that I am looking for is getting the song to flow well so that it doesn't break and allows for development as it progresses. Have to explore different synth sounds and experiment with different combinations. Proposal 2 Title: When I'm Gone Genre: Acoustic Ballad References: Lew, Labyrinth, Rhys Lewis When I'm Gone is a slow ballad that features the acoustic guitar which strives to deliver its message through songwriting and arrangement. This is a rather personal song that serves as a goodbye to family and friends through letter format and repeating lines that pop up like 'Tell him/her this w...
