POD Song 2
Indie Pop
Nicotine
Before I start talking about the song, I realized certain things now. For all the songs I'm writing, I always go with the feeling of the song as my direction and top priority. So the problem that I have with me right now is that I actually have a lot of scrapped material in my Logic library for the past few weeks. Like for example, when I'm reopening a logic session and I listen to it again, I always get that 'this isn't it' feeling and it's like the feeling/direction of it is just all wrong for me. So I'm always experimenting through new projects and trying to work on how to make it better based on past ones. This is especially true with the RnB song, and at this point, its something I've taken a break from working on and am working on the others.
Anyways the Indie Pop song is the one that I've worked the most on, going through different melodies, different instrumentation, and I'm glad to finally have a structure and something to further develop on to turn into a full song. It's personally the one that I enjoy doing the most so I'm often going back to it and most motivated to complete.
Its step by step for me with this song and somehow I felt like I wanted to keep it simple so I just started on a riff, and I'm using only 2 chords as my foundation. Experimented with a ton of sounds by taking a few days of just going through the soundbank or creating the sounds from scratch. Bringing together all the instrumentation was fun for me and I had quite a joyful time with the arrangement.
For me, Indie songs often talked about the weirdest stuff or indirectly say things so I tried to do that through the songwriting. And so far every single time I open it up I enjoy it.
